Our Mission and Vision
With a global unemployment rate of 5.1% in 2023, the need for skilled talent is more critical than ever. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), this figure represents a slight improvement from 5.3% in 2022, but still highlights a significant gap in the labor market. [1] Research suggests that this gap is largely due to a mismatch between the skills job seekers possess and those required by employers. [2] This skills gap is particularly pronounced in rapidly evolving industries driven by technological advancements.

At OpenInterns, we aim to bridge this gap by providing skilling and experiential learning opportunities to students, new immigrants, and young professionals. We believe that hands-on experience is crucial in developing job-ready skills and increasing employability. This is especially important in markets like Canada, where employers often prioritize Canadian work experience. [3] By equipping individuals with the necessary skills and experience, we empower them to secure their dream jobs and contribute meaningfully to the economy.
